What books should I read to get a relatively fair understanding of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict?

This is decent for just a general understanding of the timeline. Kind of biased though. But It starts off with biblical times and continues up to modern day, so it helped me get an idea of each conflict and the results. I just dont like how in some parts it uses American colonialism to justify Israeli settling

>A Land of Two Peoples: Martin Buber on Jews and Arabs.
This will give you a decent background on the escalation of the conflict before the 1967 war.

>Parting Ways: Jewishness and a Critique of Zionism by Judith Butler
examines ethics and the politics of modern Zionism

>The Human right to dominate by Nicola Perugini and Neve Gordon
This one is a bit of a stretch but it looks at how both sides of the conflict make claims about human rights to justify their actions. Pic related is from this book

Here's the fair understanding: European Jews ethnically cleansed and stole Palestinian lands. That is what they explicitly stated they would do, it's what they did, and what they continue to do to this day. All efforts to try to add fake "nuance" to that is just muddying the waters. They never had any intention of a two state solution and they have no intention of giving back any of the land. The conflict ends with Palestinians living as fourth class citizens in a united Israel, doing menial labor jobs or moving to Jordan/Egypt when they can't take it anymore. The end.

There's a book called "Righteous Victims," that I picked up years ago and never got around to reading, it seemed like a pretty comprehensive study of the politics surrounding the conflict.

Old testament. No shit. This'll help you understand the Jewish side.
Quran: this will help you understand why the Arabs won't give up until they're completely fucked up and over.

Also: the fateful triangle by Chomsky probably.

This is it. If i was more cynical and sadisitic I would enjoy the irony.

Probably controversial, but i really feel like the Palestinians should just give up. I can understand they wont. Your opinion lit?

Honestly some days I really do agree with this statement.

the Palestinians always attack in response to something Israel did and without those attacks they wouldn't even have a chance to sit at the negotiation table.
without resistance they wouldn't exist.

Unless the book covers shipping and transport routes it is worthless.

Almost no book does. Religious disputes are just a cover for dominating a key part of the old Silk Road that is currently being revived.

Go look at a map of the area and zoom out. You will see that Israel/Palestine sits like a keystone between Europe, Africa, the Mediterranean Sea and India/China. Farther north and you're having to deal with Russian winters and hostile mountainous terrain.

Control trade through an area, and you can tax it and get rich doing next to nothing. That was the Ottoman Empire for nearly 1000 years. And other empires before that.

Palestinian is made-up ethnicity. There is Jordanian, Egyptian, and Arab. 'Palestinians' are a combination of those.

To add to my point: it is no coincidence that Zionism became popular with the spread of rail.

How is it anti-semitic? From my understanding, Kevin MacDonald correctly states that Jews like Franz Boas were at the forefront of the development of modern anthropology. His conclusions might not be 100% correct, but he's not factually wrong about anything he says.

What do you mean by "fair?"
I would recommend checking out "Obstacle to Peace" by Jeremy Hammond. Ignore the anti-vax stuff on his site if that triggers you, he is incredibly knowledgeable on the subject of Israel-Palestine.
Also "The Wandering Who" by Gilad Atzmon helps explain both cultural Jewishness and Zionism. He is a man who left Israel to become a Jazz musician in Great Britain, but has perceptive commentary a lot of the time.
Sheldon Richman, a libertarian, has also recently published a series of essays he has written over the years on the issue called "Coming to Palestine."

This is almost retardedly reductive.
>Palestinian is a made-up ethnicity
Any more made up than German or French? I acknowledge that it is a recent ethnicity, but it was created by history just like any other to describe a particular group of Arabs with a particular experience.
