Its a symptom of an unconscious lack of civilisation that is trapping soiciety in infantile levels of base hedonism and juvenile materiality at the expense of our species maturing to a level where we can achieve a worthwhile experience of harmony and peace. Sex for other than procreation is the ultimate drug that sows the seed of the most violent discord. It is fundamental to humans, our most important act, by which we propagate the moral integrity of our species (or dont). Therefore it should be the most sacred and important act we can do. They've become curse words because thats how base our society is. It literally values selfish hedonistic pleasure so highly that to be without it is to be cursed. As always whatever the majority thinks, truth is the opposite.
