I’ve only read a few in a some collection years ago. Very weird and idiosyncratic, as he says. The cat mouse and bulldog are supposed to be (or can be taken as) a love triangle, like Olive Oil, Popeye and Bluto. Too weird and not funny enough for me to buy at the time
But I did pick up the collected Little Nemo, another Watterson fav

No problem. I don't think I've read this stuff in over a decade, so it's nice to revisit. I'm amazed at the quality of Watterson's prose. There's some short blurbs scattered throughout this collection, so I might post a few more as I see fit, but no promises.
