It's a vast collection of many different books written by different people from various times. Nobody sat down and planned out the entire trajectory of the Bible all the way through the New Testament as if it were some kind of novel, m8.

Its a terrible book. But it is also the cornerstone of Western Civilization and it is of great literary value; It has inspired countless other books, the law, commentary, analysis and debates. It has spawned an uncountable amount of denominations and creeds. Wherever you stand in any spectrum of thought you cannot deny its profound cultural impact. There are some great books to be found in the Bible. I don't enjoy the works dealing with law as much because I find that shit boring, but complaining about that is like calling a census terrible literature. I find the Gospels and Paul's epistles pretty interesting reads, for one thing. Job and Ecclesiastes, too, but that goes without saying.
