Depends on what type of philosophy. Nietzsche is about an ideal for humanity and Plato is about justice and abstract thought. Marcus Aureilius also was certainly not bullied. I think you're confusing philosophy with self-help as philosophy doesn't necessarily have an effect on the individual.
