They litteraly and honestly said that since they were right and the Catholics were wrong the Spirit would have preserved them from translation and typocraphic errors. then went and immediately did translation and typographic errors.
They Also litteraly and honestly said that since the previous statement was true, that Bible would be their Sole Arbiter, more faithful to the original content than the greek and aramaic version. Evangélics still hold this.
Obviously It's still a good translation with great literary merita but It's not what we're talking about here, we're talking about You SEEEETHING.

Reminder to Catholics and others that salvation has always been freely given to anyone willing by the grace of God through faith alone; if you're trusting your own works to be saved, then you're not placing all of your faith in Jesus Christ.

Romans 11:6 KJV
> And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

Romans 4:5 KJV
>But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith counted for righteousness.

Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV
>8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
>9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Galatians 2:16 KJV
> Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

If works were required for salvation, then all the "believe and be saved" verses from the gospels and the NT would say "believe and work to be saved" including

John 3:16 KJV
> For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

True salvation is simple. All the hard work has already been done by Christ. All you need to do is lay aside your own pride and accept the "free" gift of God by believing Jesus Christ did it all for you. Don't reject the gift by trying to pay for it, you can't.

Matthew 25:31–46
>And when the Son of man shall come in his majesty, and all the angels with him, then shall he sit upon the seat of his majesty.
>And all nations shall be gathered together before him: and he shall separate them one from another, as the shepherd separateth the sheep from the goats:
>And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on his left.

>Then shall the king say to them that shall be on his right hand: Come, ye blessed of my Father, possess you the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
>For I was hungry, and you gave me to eat: I was thirsty, and you gave me to drink: I was a stranger, and you took me in:
>Naked, and you covered me: sick, and you visited me: I was in prison, and you came to me.
>Then shall the just answer him, saying: Lord, when did we see thee hungry and fed thee: thirsty and gave thee drink?
>Or when did we see thee a stranger and took thee in? Or naked and covered thee?
>Or when did we see thee sick or in prison and came to thee?
>And the king answering shall say to them: Amen I say to you, as long as you did it to one of these my least brethren, you did it to me.

>Then he shall say to them also that shall be on his left hand: Depart from me, you cursed, into everlasting fire, which was prepared for the devil and his angels.
>For I was hungry and you gave me not to eat: I was thirsty and you gave me not to drink.
>I was a stranger and you took me not in: naked and you covered me not: sick and in prison and you did not visit me.
>Then they also shall answer him, saying: Lord, when did we see thee hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison and did not minister to thee?
>Then he shall answer them, saying: Amen: I say to you, as long as you did it not to one of these least, neither did you do it to me.
>And these shall go into everlasting punishment: but the just, into life everlasting.

Good works are necessary for salvation.

>I DONT KNOW HOW THE CHURCH WORKS!
Were there many versions of the Bible with the Gospels of Thomas before the 1600s?
It was decided at Nicaea and, as usual, formalized into cathechism when heretics came and said the opposite.
>>13959320
Except Luther was an autist and misunderstood the whole problem because he thought that paying money instead of accepting a temporal punishment for a sin meant people didn't have to actually repent; which Obviously was wrong and had been wrong since a thousands years earlier.
Furthermore, the actual Catholic position on Faith and works:
