The problem is not the concept of honor or something in itself (if that is even a thing). The problem is that we live in a society in which the manifestations of these values is only understandable if it's manifested in a way which is underlying the historicity of the performative manifestation. Meaning that every performance of these values is always just a manifestation of something past in the present - or in other words pure hauntology.

The problem of it is that we don't have anything left to perform and form and frame our performance inside this society. Which would mean that we live in pure degeneracy if degeneracy would not be also a specific set of manifestations which are nothing more than the copying of past manifestations. We are so degenerate that we can't even perform degeneracy.

The entire premise of this thread is that people today are unabashed degenerates and the morality and modesty of generations past is a lost ideal. In reality, the morality and modesty of generations past appeared to exist because rich people and politicians were degenerates in their night-life so in the day they doubled down against degeneracy when they preached values to the middle class through lawmaking or media.
