I fucking hate Harry Potter so much. I just got home after a small house party where our host made us play Harry Potter trivia quiz and all the other guests agreed because they were vile bugmen. Even my girlfriend wanted to do that because she's read all those turgid books and watched the movies. Later on she got genuinely upset because I knew no answers besides the ones to 2-3 very simple questions. I knew that there was no point in reminding her that I'm only into literary fiction because I'd instantly get booed by those vulgar redditors.

This truly is the most horrid timeline.

I sometimes read hp specifically to remind me of that childhood mindset of innocence and simple values because it is a kind of reminder of some things when you get in very abstract and confused places in your understanding of life. The simple narratives about having empathy for people, having courage in frightening situations, choosing to fight for good instead of evil, redemption, etc. They're not all that useful in real life but they do remind you of the impulses towards those things that exist within you.

War and Peace is another book I often reread expressly for that purpose, which has a lot more going on than hp obviously, but it's mostly the young people's little personal dramas that reminds me of those things in the book, so there is a similarity. War and Peace is especially good because Andrei and Pierre are both going through all sorts of mental confusions, and they have moments of redemption as well, and then it's contrasted with what's happening with the younger people like Natasha and Nikolai. The part where they make a little play at their forest cottage is absolutely magical, as is the part where Andrei hears Natasha talking about the moon in the room above his.

Back when only an elite minority were literate, the ability to read was highly valuable and those who could read made sure to make good use of it. Nowadays when even the lowest strata of society can read it has no value whatsoever. Modern man would rather read garbage than something that requires effort to interpret. My 40-years old female relative who is avid reader thinks Harry Potter is best shit ever, despite having read most of western canon. She is also a huge lefty, blood type diet advocate and thinks Hunger Games is accurate representation of what would happen after societal collapse.

Can you imagine having friends that are obsessed with great literature as much as bugmen are obsessed with capeshit and Harry Potter? My life would be complete, and I would hold on to them with dear life. I don't know a single person who reads classics except Austen and a few other mediocre British authors that have been unaccountably venerated.

It's a children's book with a slightly above average plot and story. There's tons of plot holes in it. Like time travel, absolute hypnosis.
Only the riff raff can't handle that truth. Their book is held together with glitter glue and duct tape in regards to the plot.
If Harry Potter universe were real. It would not play out like the book, and that's why the author failed the series and the followers are brainz goblins.

because the culture of the majority, of the lowest common denominator insists on parading something trivial and low quality as sacred. It's like idol worship, or insisting that a shiny ball of dung is the same as a polished sphere of marble. Disliking things because they're common isn't commendable because it hinges on evaluating a material based on its reception (a cucked and faggy way to go about things), but being able to judge things is part of having a soul. Judging the Hary Potter (C) franchise as disgusting is a sign of Pneuma.

I fucking hate Kantianism so much. I just got home after a small luncheon where our host made us critique the conditions of the possibility of knowledge of the categories of understanding and all the other guests agreed because they were vile Fichteans. Even my wife wanted to do that because she's read all those turgid grundwerkes and attended the lectures. Later on she got genuinely upset because I knew no answers besides the ones to 2-3 very simple amphibolies. I knew there was no point reminding her that I'm only into Leibniz-wolffianism because I'd get instantly booed by those vulgar indifferentists.
