Go for it. You can start out by reading some of the books that are constantly shilled here.

Reading literary opinions on 4Chan counts as reading fiction btw.

I mean, in comparison to reading non-fiction. I like reading fiction but in comparison to what I find in non-fiction it just surprises me how I find more enjoyment AND learn more from the latter than the former. I learn so much more reading non-fiction, intellectual stimulation and pleasure. Maybe there is something I am missing here, literature books don't give me that much pleasure even though I'm writing one myself wtf. The last book I read and enjoyed was Lolita by the way.

Reading fiction is equivalent to playing games or watching tv. Entertainment timesink. Read non fiction if you want to get ahead in life (NO SELF HELP BOOKS!).

Fiction isn't there for you to "learn". You're supposed to get the aesthetic value from the prose and experience the story. That's it. Stop posting the same fiction < nonfiction thread every day

That's why my all-time favorite fiction book is Lolita.

Because in my mind I thought I was missing something. Why is there so much discussion on literature when philosophy is clearly the more useful and pleasurable? In every way conceivable it exceeds literature, it stimulates the mind more, engender into our spirits curiosity and intellectual interests, opens up new fields and ideas etc. and while literature has its merits, it does not come close to philosophy. I think a mistake of mine was to compare between them in the first place, it is like oranges and apples. One besides giving out much more knowledge, ennobles the mind, but on the other hand, literature is the creative expression by which writers can put out their ideas and creativity etc. but we all know deep down non-fiction beats all.
