But if all these people had truly read it, if even one of them had understood it completely, the world would be changed. Most people are lucky to read even one sentence of the Bible in perfect clarity. And yet, we can see by such a wonderful outpouring of faith, that even the dim reflection of its beautiful truth is enough to water to world.

I'm not interested in the thoughts of Jews in Tudor tier English. Whenever someone say 'THY LORD' or anything I cringe. If the Bible was abstracted from what it is then it would probably constitutte an explanation for Logos.

The Tao Te is unfortunately not translated properly. To properly understand it one has to know the Chinese language.
This rule applies also to any sacred book written in any other language.

Why are you asking for suggestions if you aren’t willing to read? I’m not saying the tarot is deep mysticism, I’m saying this book is. Focusing on the most superficial element, the title, is a pretty good hint that this type of literature isn’t for you. Maybe do a bit of research on the book or better yet actually read some of it?

Sadly there isn't. The issue is that Chinese is an analytical language, one character can have multiple meanings. Sometimes multiple meanings apply at the same time which gives the book two truths at once. Plus some characters are not translatable because they serve as a substitute for punctuation. Most translations focus on making it an artistic poem that rhymes when it is just a dry instructional prose. Passages that literally say:
>If you do A, then B happens.
>If you do C, then D happens.
are translated as
>Always we must do A, and not C,
>for there is nothing good in D and B is best.

It is just the age old debate on translations in general. You either translate everything word to word focusing on pinpointing the precise meaning. Or you just do a free translation, while preserving the meaning.

Both should provide the same result but it all depends on the type of work.

There is similar case with the Bible especially the Old testament. In the Hebrew language, which is also analytical, the letter "wa" is among other things used as a connector "and" in a sentence, but it is also used as a punctuation marking the end of the sentence.
There are many sentences translated like this:
>And this happened...
>And that happened...
>And Jesus said...
which is sadly incorrect. Doesn't change the meaning of the work. To be sure however, one would still have to read it in the Hebrew language, because if you don't, you will have endless debate about why it is written in Genesis:
>And God said: Let US make a man
When the Hebrew Elohim translated has a meaning of "those who are under an oath" said.

Even if they were found, people are still at mercy of the translator, who may or may not have a certain agenda, or his understanding may be limited.

This is why language learning is encouraged.

The more "esoteric" something tries to be, the less wise it is. Actual wisdom is simple and obvious-sounding, like
>be kind
>save your money
>keep an eye on your health
>find one person to love instead of fucking around
>help out in your community if you can
Kind of like Peterson's "clean your room" stuff, but unfortunately he bit the capitalism bug hard.
