We do not begin with the Ancient Near East because there is nothing of value.
Even with the Greeks, there is no value before the 8th century BC with Homer. Ancient Greece from 800 BC onward IS the cradle of civilization as it is today. >>13223200 is a fragmented history course on the ANE and carries no intellectual value. The Sumerians didn't even have a written language until ~2800 BC.
