She knows tumblr fucks will buy it and take photos of one page; she can use that as marketing. I reckon she knows she's not writing anything that can truly stand on its own two feet, and relies purely on getting the "omg, this is ME" of teenagers in as few characters as possible.
It's not morally wrong, but it isn't literature. I'd hope she'd find it within herself to actually write something that conveys a complete idea.
Pic related is a nice little poem, she would never write about nettles because that's not about her vagina or being 'fierce'.

I dislike this "poetry." for the same reason I dislike modern art, It's all about "feelings" "I feel." "This is how this makes me feel." Nothing is being said here. These "feelings" don't make you unique, they don't empower you, they don't grant you the knowledge to grow as an individual. Furthermore, self praising this as "putting their hearts out for the world to see." Jesus christ, what a statement into the social psychology of the times. Does she have no friends at all to talk about these things with? Lastly. Look at these things. There is nothing empowering about playing the fucking victim unless of course we are exploring a legal aspect here. Or some of the other pieces that are akin to the snake oil of a TV psychic making a general statement about a generally accepted idea such as time heals all wounds, It doesn't make you a friend, it makes you a predator selling rewritten words to people that can't seem to think for themselves or could never be bothered to look at any kind of proverb or fable.

Man everyone here agrees this poetry is bad but this shit piece of criticism you have here shows you literally have no idea about literary history/theory. You're just jumping on the possibility to rant about how we used to have it so good and that '(post)-modernity' has ruined everything. I can feel you're the type of person to marvel at ancient statues and wonder how it all went wrong since the Greeks, never realizing that the casts you are looking at are neo-classical imitations. Anyway, please open any 101 literature class-tier book on romanticism before you go around and post 'modern art is all about "feelings"' and look stupid.

some tumblr poetry is good
i recommend the nosebleedclub or crowsummers
maybe ragewrites? just look around

in a dream, you kiss my fingers
and come away bearing blood, bearing the scarlet
of the flowers May in his dying
had creased into my fate lines; you call this
a holimost act, a honey-handed

apotheosis. I weep in your arms, and cannot tell
what or for whom it is that I am mourning.

these years have wolved me: rib after rib they have
plucked from within me, eaten each of them clean
of their many-eyed fruitings; no light was left — no
darkness, either. I was hollowed,

a bellflower husk abandoned, snakeskin without
its’ pale, graveground savours. I filled myself

anew with you, with Death, with
poppies; and then a sweet wind shook me — spring
had passed. I stood with summer,
and June was braiding me, and laughing, and
I had moved from thieved temples

to airy sunrooms of my own devising.

yet my heart grieved: it could not forget March, nor
cruel-eyed April, nor May, dulcet of dark orange;

for my fire had been kindled
with their pyres.

in order for an art form to be worthwhile, it has to have rules. The more rules the artform has, the fewer people that have the capability to do this art form. When an art form is at its most structured, it is at its peak (because only the most capable people will be making art in this art form). When an art form begins to lose structure, it lets the retards back in which create complete shit that ruins the artform.

If you want proof of this concept, see classical music devolving into devolving a critique of itself with 20-minute pieces of helicopter sound and dying (modern classical), jazz music devolving a critique of itself with random screeching and dying (free jazz), painting devolving into a critique of itself with polka-dot canvases and dying (modern art), sculpting devolving into a critique of itself with literal chairs and dying (Conceptual art), high literature devolving into a critique of itself with gibberish and dying (post-modern literature), and finally poetry devolving into a critique of itself with minimalist prose as the next step into death (free form).

If you look at the thread running through those, it is critique and deconstruction. This is due to a dialectic movement to debase and undermine all forms of higher culture, but especially Western ones.

Read the culture of critique. It is documented extensively even by the perpetrators and freely admitted. Proudly.

It can not be denied except by the willfully ignorant or else by sarcastic cynics.

Nothing really complex here anon, just clever.
Its a haiku simply written with linear number progression. Three lines in a haiku, so three numbers. The effect is that its very basic and robotic, no real emotion in the piece or insight.
The brilliance lies in the simplicity of the concept and execution. Its such a clever thing, and haiku lends itself well to it, being that haiku has specific rules of format which are simple but strict. Its also actually has the correct number of syllables, 5/7/5. So, the piece is clean precise, rule oriented, and efficient. Just as if a robot had written it.
Its a clever little poem. Simple, but well executed. Definitely childish, but that doesn't diminish its clear intelligence.

This is the most vapid shit. The existence of women like this and the fact that they're a very large chunk of the female population, that if you want to try and find a meaningful relationship you're near-guaranteed to end up wasting your time and resources with many of these brain dead sluts in the process and completely jade yourself to an actual quality partner on the extreme off-chance an available and interested one might cross your path... it's all such an existential weight. I'm so tired.

>> No.13214355

>>13214317
Probably me reading too much into it, but it has to do with the girl not understanding the world and not understanding why her mother abuses her.
She interacts with a leaf harmlessly, an interaction which mirrors those she has with her mother, and she is struck for it (metaphorically and literally). Why? She doesn't know. But she is resigned to her fate, because as a child, what can she do to change it? She can hardly understand it. She thinks this comes from being a child. She's likely been told this.
It speaks from a place of incredible innocence and vulnerability, unclouded by selfishness. She's an inquisitive child, and loves her mother, but is seemingly punished for both those things and in spite of them.
If I had to guess, and this is a lot of projection, the leaf thing was probably a prompt that inspired her, maybe mixed in with a random incident she remembered at the time of writing the poem. Its likely only fully connected in her mind, if at all, but it does lend the piece a sense of obscurity, which is nice, but likely somewhat unintentional.
IN other words, there is in fact a coherent reason to compare the leaf to her mother, because the feelings she has about both are similar and somehow connected. It doesn't seem to be entirely stated why they're connected, but Stefany clearly thinks they are, and that certainly comes across.
It really is an impressive piece of poetry, even if accidentally so.

I love how some people will write that in an attempt to appear clever and sophisticated, not knowing that in the 16th century books and books on end were written against the practice of rhyming which was entirely alien to Greek and Latin poetry and which was considered too unartificial, too close to normal speech, and, ultimately, appealing to the lowest common denominator. Good job anon!

>> No.13214375

>>13214317
>>13214355
I don't think the leaf is being compared to the mother. I think the situation is much more literal through the eyes of a child. The child is walking with the mother and trying to get attention in traditional child-like fashion "Mom, look at this leaf. Look at what I'm doing, do you see me?" and her mother replying literally, maybe a bit sarcastically, "Yes, but you're being goofy and I don't want to look at you", and the line about the leaf "hitting back" might just be the child's inability to find the proper way of saying something else more literal, such as her breath bouncing back at her after hitting the leaf, or the leaf dancing through the air and coming back to "hit" her.

Any allusions to abuse seem like a bit of a stretch considering it's a poem by a 7 year old. That adults with a history of abuse may imply as much is most likely projection.

You're reading too much into it and that's not how one is supposed to enjoy poetry or literature in general. It is a nice poem, dealing with a trivial moment, which conveys the feelings of childish wonderment and defamiliarize the relation between a kid and its immediate environment, with a surprisingly self-conscious ending. There's some stuff to say about the meter as well, but criticizing literature is not and it is never attempting to enter the mind of the author or trying to perform some half-assed psychoanalytic reading of a moment.

I was gonna write a whole thing disagree with you guys on some level, but maybe you're right.
I do disagree that's its impossible for a kid to haphazardly express mature ideas/issues they come into contact with. I did it at around her age. I also disagree that deep exploration of themes, meaning, and inspiration of poetry and literature is "not how one is supposed to enjoy" them. What the point of having deep subtext if not to be found and explored and add greater meaning to piece? Not that this is what's happening in this specific piece, but nonetheless.
But you're probably right, I'm over analyzing. It really is a nice poem, overall, and impressive for a kid.

>deep subtext
Criticism is not analyzing what the author meant, it is about how the poem makes us feel. In this sense subtext in a poem can be important because of the undertone it will convey, but when the subtext you're reading goes past imagery, form and metaphors actually present /in the text/ it becomes wishful thinking and psychology.
To paraphrase Brooks: the meaning of a poem is of trivial importance, if the meaning was so important then why bother writing it in verse when it should have been more effectively something like 'I feel bad when my mom doesn't not acknowledge me, I'm a child but I like looking around.'

Stirring satyrs and thugs to coitally joust
Paired pistoning peens spraying ‘till so dowsed
Parading creampies to afront authority

And speed to my gash sturdy flaps as its wreath
Do spirit our cunts from all sexual grief
And to you we promise our every climax and queef

Your powers make the glisten inside of our sheath
And in your name we sing these pleasures beneath
Though soggy and soiled our snatches and flaps
There's none so holy as our va-jay-jay gaps
We seek only those phalli that draw such applause
Without foreskin or blemish or circulatory flaws
Into our vaginal maws we stuff them to gorge
And deliver the Fempire by this our yonic forge

Goddesses of the Yonic, help my words I do pray
So that to herstory comes news of such sexual fray
Where coital mileage dwarfed the greatest whores of yore
And grizzled each my sisters' chaste peaches to gore

These sisters won such great acclaim by their story
Their spread legs and agape cheeks beckoning Glory
Barely battened crowds were thusly mad with lust
Setting upon any woman like the wind's fickle gust
To our sisters bodies the men drew their best pucker
To kiss, lick and win the best body-part sucker
But woe to those tongues that knew any taste of our snizz
And suffered no allergies when sprayed with female fizz
Because darkly hides a monster in each our cunt floccules
A certain face-melting disfigurement alights from but one globule

Goddesses so favor the fairest feet
Like Megan Boyle's own rank tootsie meat
Guarded from creeps, she keeps her feet chaste
Modestly shod in boots, leggings of lace
Podiatric fans phone from restricted
So Daddy's friend soon got them evicted
Greedily Megan savors her feets funks
Dangling a heel to trip-up lusty lunks
As a grape and so squished by her feet's plod
Her soles eclipsing sky and sun, so awed
Scarce is the chance for any pedal glance
Telepath to her socks by lucid trance
Trade crypto for clippings, not as a goof
Liquify, titrate, so prepare to boof
Huffing Megan's foot goo, face-fulls of socks
The crustiest which recall pickled lox
Pledging allegiance to her feet, too true
Strong as when morning whistles go "Woo-woo!"
Without Megan's feet we all tend to grump
Emptying angry bowels, a protest dump
Wilting without them, I'm Tubercular,
From the floor her nails appear circular
Please kick and stomp me, Megan, be Livid
Beam not your smile, look cruelly frigid
Kick boots up into my perineum
Femdom power is not an idiom
Bruising and fluids inflame away jiggly
Boxing and bruising my sack like a peach
Ceased before a laceration might breach
Sacramental kicks to spite my drippy sobs
Purged of wayward thoughts of vagene and bobs
Prayers to Goddess for thine ultimate deal
Giantess Megan's urethral vore meal

Deeply covert, buried beneath DC
A sub-basement lair, highly sleazy
Where numerous screens richly showcases
Live feeds fed from the ladies' loo spaces
Lurking neither in sinks nor even their stalls
Sneakily broadcasting toilet bowls' all
Congressladies dimpled cheeks aflutter
Squeezing braapers with noisome sputters
No tourists can reach those hallowed commodes
Reserved for elected chicks by city codes
All throughout the long legislative day
Privy eliminations plummet away
Hissed expulsions of peristaltic logs
Thundrous flushings each the ivory bogs
Emictions lively, fading to sprinkles
Anal apertures wrench shut their wrinkles
Rarest toilet shows shone therein that Room
Unless a lense is choked by rectal spume
Until that powerful flush does banish
Floaters and sinkers, marbles to ghanoush
Twelve sharp cameras arranged in a ring
Peak seamlessly the slop their bottoms sling
Multitasking muted phones as they spurt
If ever they speak, those Reps are quite curt
Scanning screens for new eclipsing tushes
Its a fine way to spy varied bushes
Mellifluous messes loosed from sphincters
Rippled cadences by brown eyes' blinkers
Reps and Senators, those lobbyists too
All hunker their hineys to dump some poo
Why yesterday there's that Wasserman-Schultz
Profaning from expulsionary jolts
No bashful ejecter is Rep. Pelosi
She never strains, her bowels most cozy
Even AOC voids, her stools likes masts
Resisting livestreaming to lower castes
Woe to girls following Maxine Waters
Fecal patterns sprayed from plie squatters
Sometimes they peer queerly into the bowl
Never fathoming there's more than a hole
An artistic tool beneath their old glutes
Logging the zephyrs by ladies in suits

My Jeanette, my little heart, my dear thing, my devout, my love, my dear, my sweet, my life, my light, my all good, my shadow, my castle, my acre, my lawn, my vineyards, O sun, oh my life, sun, moon, the stars, the heavens, my past, my future, my bride, my girl, my dear friend, my innermost being, my heart blood, my internal star of my eyes, O dearest what should I call you? My golden child, my pearl, my precious stone, my crown, my queen, my empress. You dear darling of my life, my highest, my most precious, my baptism, my children. You are my tragic plays, you are my posthumous reputation, you are my second, a better self, you are my virtue, you are my merit, you are my hope, my heaven, my child of God, you are my intercessor, you are my guardian, my angel, my concubine. How I love you so.
