incest is a seriously morally gray area. in a post-religion post-traditionalist society where sex is just something that people do, the only true set in stone rule one could make is that consent must be freely and completely given by all parties
so where does incest go wrong? well, due to the way human psychology works, it's insanely rare to have people actually be attracted to relatives, let alone two, let alone two of the same family. it's possible for incestual relationships to come about because one person was into their relative and said relative either felt obligated to return the affection or felt too awkward to say no
the chance of this happening rises with generational difference. sure, you could have siblings enter a healthy sexual relationship with a bit of luck, but in order for parent-offspring or uncle/aunt-nephew/niece relationships to be consensual beyond a reasonable doubt, there has to be no power dynamics at all. can you imagine parents not having any sort of social power over their children? most families don't have a casual enough hierarchy to allow consensual romance/sex to work between different generations. not to mention age difference, which is generally yucky because again, power dynamics
there are more theoretically acceptable situations, though. step-siblings, half-siblings, adopted siblings, and siblings not raised together would have a lower chance of possible coercion (accidental or otherwise) behind it, depending on how soon they take mutual interest after they first meet in the context of being siblings. relationships between cousins of different generations can be less sketchy than uncle/aunt-nephew/niece relationships, since it's more common for removed cousins to be closer together in age than immediate niblings. additionally, time travel can be used to get past that pesky age difference if you really want to fuck grandma
one final note, straight incest should remain celibate or exclusively use contraceptives, while gay incest has no such requirement. gay couples don't have kids, so gay incest doesn't produce deformed babies
tldr: most forms of incest aren't inherently bad, just impractical, since it can easily turn into accidental rape, also gay incest is more okay than straight incest
