"The Industrial Revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race."
Prove this wrong.

Also discuss Ted's books, and what it will take for people to realise that science and technology are the cause of all our problems.

Tell us about him. Do you write him letters?

I remember someone on here saying he got a letter from Ted, and another (or maybe the same guy) saying they might compile a bunch of positive comments and send them to him.

A guy posted a letter Ted sent him a while ago, I have it saved somewhere. It was on march I think.
The idea about sending him nice comments is nice. He's a murderer but I have a soft spot for lonely old people, and I agree with some of his ideas.

I like the fact poor people live in warmer houses and live longer than pre-industrial revolution.

How do the pro-medieval team argue against this?

Plugging "The Metaphysics of Technology" by Skrbina again. The man had a ten year correspondence with Uncle Ted.

If that's true then human beings are the disaster, not the industrial revolution. If tech got wiped out we would just end up doing it all over again

'warmer houses' and 'lower mortality rates' than natural always have unintended consequences that are worse than the problem they solve, the fact that we all live in a "warm house" nowadays is possibly one of the causes for the obesity epidemic we are facing. and the lower mortality rate is obviously a problem considering our species is several times over the carrying capacity of the planet, and we are using unsustainable farming techniques to maintain this population, not only that but most western countries now have a huge problem with an aging population that they are struggling to economically maintain. all of these (and more) are the cost of the solutions technology offers. and they ALWAYS outweigh the benefits. lengthening our average lifespan is not worth the cost of possibly causing another mass extinction on this planet, as well as possibly turning our species into a bunch of robotic automata, lobotomized of anything one could call free will. yet that's the result we will inevitably face if we keep going down this path.

that and most of there things aren't even related to tech. ted never said return to pre agriculture. the dude rode a bike. tech is always requires massive energy consumption.

He didn't say not to either.

He deliberately didn't write any "what about after the revolution" answers because he knew it was pure guessing.
