I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to say here, but I have some insight on that front. I was in the Army for 8 years, went to war twice in a combat MOS, and was involved in a large amount of contact.

After I separated from the military, my life lost all purpose. Doctors called it "separation anxiety," citing that I was simply purposeless because I was so used to being surrounded by close friends and living a heavily regimented schedule. It would all pass soon, it never lasts long. They were missing one key piece of information however: I didn't miss my comrades overmuch, and I was relieved to have some personal freedom. The issue I had was that at 19 I had accepted, fully, that I would die in combat and when I didn't my mind was entirely unaware of what to make of it. There was also the fact that I actually enjoyed being deployed, and combat was something I not only excelled at, it was something I reveled in. The realization that I would never again experience that fire of life, the feeling only possible when one pits himself and his will against the will of another in a death struggle, truly broke my spirit on a deep level. Whereas some men experience the rage of combat and devise that in contrast that life is a beautiful, vibrant thing, to me existence became almost unbearably colorless. War did not give my life meaning, it nearly stole it.

I think your breakdown is good. There are lots of ugly men, sure, but of those there are some which don't care much for sex or companionship by nature, so it's not an issue.
