I consider this book the best of U K LeGuin's works. The novel is a retelling of the Aeneid from the standpoint of his Latin wife, Lavinia. Elements of Fantasy but also I believe a realistic portrayal of the ancient time of the pre-Roman Latins. Good read!

Why is this kind of shit so prevalent among modern female writers? Hackneyed fan-fiction of antiquity's great works from a female's perspective? At least when men do it, it's good (see: Hoelderlin's Hyperion).

Ok I know people make all sorts of claims here but those who know my family's ancient history have told me that I am descended from Sylvius of the Pointed Spear who was Aeneas and Lavinia's son. I LIKED Lavina and I wrote to Ursula that it was a good idea to give the Mothers of Rome their historical due. She is far from a hack writer - her works are very easy to read - the prose flows off the page and her subject matter is of great interest to many people.

No 4chan lit seems to only like disturbed authors who are LGBTQ drug addicts who write misanthropic dense and unreadable prose and who hate any idea of God.
