On being great:
Everyone everywhere stands on the shoulders of those who came before them and is subject to the circumstances in which they found themselves. For some men, they had to be "great" just to refrain from suicide.

I'm also in the road to become better as a person.
The hardest problem, in my opinion, is that other than your books (Epictetus, Plato, etc), you will be on your own. Plato had Socrates and plenty of like-minded individuals surrounding him, like Antisthenes. Epictetus had Musonius. We have no real life examples surrounding us. The examples we find in our daily lives are negative ones.
