either you've just bought all of those books and are showing off your recent purchases, in which case that seems like an awful lot of books to get all at once given that it'd take you months to get through them all, or you're proudly showing off all the books you own, in which case that's a kind of small and extremely weird collection and you should get a bookshelf, or you just chose those particular books to post to try and either troll or impress anonymous people on /lit/, in which case oh no/good job

I dunno what author I'd compare him to. The one thing I dislike about the Life: A User's Manual so far is that in some parts he spends far too much time describing banal things rather than spending time with the characters, and those parts are often excellent. There's little to no dialogue in the novel. He describes all different kinds of people, some of them living strange lives, some sad things, some funny things, all different facets of life are represented. It's unique and as a whole really captivating. It took a while to acclimate to his style but I'm loving it so far.

Destroy my stack. Started shopping at thrift stores and these are all thrift finds. My stack is getting out of hand because of that as I used to keep only a handful of unread books but it's hard to resist picking up $1-$2 books.

Anna Karenina is the Maude translation which I'm midway through. A Patriot's History is a response to A People's History by Zinn which I've read. Found Patriot's and figured I might as well read the response.

That Kelman strikes me as being in the tradition of Faulkner. Read Faulkner.

I read it recently, but it definitely warrants many re-reads. It's a beautiful and profound work.

I solely read it once, yet I have a friend that has read it many, many times. It changed his life once and it does every time he goes over it.

How do people like Baudrillard? He and Foucault are so unbelievably boring even when they're right.

Thanks friend. I've even read Eliade but just didn't know what he looked like, the rest I haven't read

Yeats and Borges are exquisite. Dickens' "Pickwick", his first novel, is brimming with the energy and high spirits of youth - one of the funniest books I've ever read.
