The book actually gives an example where some guy in the club is yelling about how he wants to eat some ass and some girl just laughs it off and comes over and flirts around with him.

The point of it is to be light hearted about things and maybe joke around a little but still making your intentions clear. The book also touches on aspects such as being vulnerable, in that if a woman says something offensive you should tell her that's offensive and get up and leave. When you suck up to a woman to get into her pants that's not you being honest.
