Hello and welcome to the voting for the 2018 top 100, hosted this year by the litcord. The voting will run for around 10 days. You will be allowed to vote for up to 10 books this year. Do not vote for anthologies (i.e. do not vote for the complete works of Shakespeare, vote for individual plays). You can vote at the link below. Only vote once. Once the votes start to come in, a spreadsheet will be posted showing the current votes.

There is no polling anon, and if there is he's in the litcord. Rest assured, what happened last year with the poll hosted by discord will not happen again.

i hate that faggot, he just jumped on the bandwagon of the original chartanon who provided his survey with cute whimsical asides and subtitled and just churned out his new survey blatantly copying the original autistically with no humour or light meme touches like 3 m's in hemmmmingway and such and such and the whole thing is so weird and uncomfortable for me
it's just this blank confrontational tiny survey of books (with tiny irrelevant totals that ironically undercut any relevance it might have) rather than a comfy esoteric knowing survey of a small subsection of the internet

Voted and glad to participate to this. /lit/ top 100 is not the best nor the most systematic chart online but I got to /lit/ thanks to it some year ago. I read a lot of the things you were suggesting and, honestly, I had a lot of fun.
Even though I do not agree with the positions of certain books, I think that the list itself mostly recommends good stuff and is a fairly good "cloud" of titles to read in general - at least it was so for me. There are a lot of books I would have never known or that I would not have been encouraged to read if it wasn't for those kind of charts and the systematic memeing (and sometimes bullying) of certain titles.
So I hope you will take it sort of seriously and give your best: these charts are probably one of the most useful things this board can produce and though it is true that they are inferior to, let's say, a good university syllabus, it is still higher quality than most of the shit you'll find on popular websites.
A heart-felt thank you to all of you who will participate in this trying to truly get the books you think are best on the top. You are doing good.

What are you talking about, number one has always been Infinite Jest, Ulysses or Moby Dick. Unless you're talking about the fake one that keeps getting spammed. Pic related is the real one, not the one with the Bible, Shakespeare's Complete Works and Faust in the top 10.
>the next few spots will all be meme books like fanged noumena or lolita
But Fanged Noumena's never in the top 50 and Lolita isn't a meme book

Shit I posted the fake one, here's the real one

i don't think anyone here cares about this type of thing anymore, it's just not in the culture of the board. and really, why even do something like this, the same books every year? i admit i got into literature by one of these charts, but by now i've read most of these books, and i'm sure other anons did too. there should be a chart with unknown or alternative titles to these. the discord lit or whatever tried to do one, but their list was pretty much lit core (though there's a chance it's so because discord is so influential on the board and not the contrary, i wouldn't know) with some few good less known titles, not a proper alternative chart.

There should be a list for poems, short stories, short story collections and non fiction. At the moment the chart has almost exclusively novels and it is probably the best 'top 100 books' list there is so some more lists would be nice
