There's no such thing as China. The extent to which the US can be seen as the only real country, that is to say a fanciful but functionally true perspective, is the extent to which the opposite can be said of China. Everything from headcount, to History, to individuals' daily interaction is functionally fake, and technically fake for the most part as well. Think of the absurdity of their touted headcount alone. Think of how generally conducive to sustained population growth the US is, that is to say very conducive, perhaps the most conducive in known History, and its sensible verifiable claim of over 300 000 000 people. Now think of how miserable Chinese conditions are, even or rather especially the "best" ones, according to the Chinese themselves, and their absurd unverifiable claim of over 1 000 000 000 people. Think of this and you'll get an idea of the scope of Chinese lying.

xiong shili and mou zongsan forge New Confucianism by bringing Kant, Hegel, and Bergson to bear on Neoconfucianism and significantly Chinese presentations of Yogacara. They seek to overcome the great lack in Chinese philosophy - lack of systematicity and lack of a thoroughly elucidated epistemology.

There's a lot going on in the Sinosphere. And Hegel was right about the East-to-West progression of Spirit, but what he didn't fully take into account is that the globe is spherical. The American has ended and Geist has already made its way across the pacific.

it already had its run. Marxism was a meme for a couple decades, killed 100 million, but then bowed to the practicalities of Confucian ethics. Chinese culture is ultimate boss for any ideology. It's undefeated.

The West has lost it, everyone knows it. You're either doing body without organs or you're writing truth tables. Just disconnected p zombies adding epicycles to their systems. Sino-futurism is still in its infancy, but the fledgling New Confucianism taking root in Taiwan and the mainland, in conversation with Kyoto school, is cool stuff. The political dimensions of the new philosophy overlap with the OBOR new silk road ideology of making enemies into friends 化敌为友, and while that aesthetic is still laughably infantile, manifesting in Chinese films and the naive speeches of Xi jinping, it's a positive transnational ideology that has legs.

Ezra Pound has a lot to say about it. I really recommend you read the beginning of his book Guide to Kulcher. It’s a book on a ton of different subjects, but Confucius is the first one
https://archive.org/details/in.ernet.dli.2015.148695/page/n37
The first chapter is a translation of part of the analects, and the second chapter is commentary on Confucianism
He also wrote translations of the main Confucian canon and odes, in addition his Cantos LII-LXI are called the “Chinese Cantos,” as they also concern Confucius and China
The basics of his ideas was that Confucianism ultimately worked and the West needed to develop a similar system

china sends international students to the US with the hopes they can transmit pro-China views to young Americans, but the result is they actually just get psyop’d in America and either 1) dont go back 2) go back westernized and spread western views in China. That being said, China is not a western colony. The vast majority of people are insulated from westernization.

Also, the ‘learn mandarin’ thing is a meme. Even if China becomes a/the dominant global player, Chinese will not be largely used outside of China. You dont need it to do business in China/with the chinese. you only need it for day-to-day communication with locals or for reading, as a lot of texts dont get translated.

Singapore's system for China has potential but can't really be compared because of population and demographic difference i.e. a single city vs. a massive geographic space with millions of rural peasants. Also Singapore's system opens you up significantly to western cultural influence, which the Chinese don't want, they want Chinese culture.

But Chinese culture was destroyed by Mao
Parts of it...not all of it... either way some survived and is still practiced and taken seriously by even the young generations. So if by liberalize you mean politically, then maybe can be done, but if you mean socially then 1) the people by and large dont want it 2) the government DEFINITELY doesnt want it. The CCP (or at least Xi Jinping) recognizes the need for change before they face a legitimacy crisis and is trying to bring back aspects of traditional culture to replace communism as the meaning of communism.

Westerners also fail to understand the mindset of the average Chinese. Every American is fixated on national or international politics that they couldnt possibly have any effect on and, ultimately, have little effect on their personal lives. Chinese people tend to be indifferent to things that don't directly affect them/their daily lives, and on this point Id argue that the daily life of a person in China faces less interference from the government then the daily life of a person in America. That could change but its the current reality. Most Chinese are satisfied right now.

The Chinese have no idea what they 'want', what they want is dictated to them by the CCP, the same party that is now making a pathetic attempt to pose as the saviour of traditional Chinese culture after doing its utmost to destroy it from 1949-1976. And in spite of its bleating about muh western influence Marxist ideology was conceived by a fucking German i.e. European i.e. Westerner.

This is the problem with Asian cultures in general; they put a premium on 'social harmony', but purchased at the expense of truth because they're too cowardly to face it. But it is. This is exactly my point. You can't discuss this in china without being visited by the police, yet when you point how unjust this is to chinks, they respond to some autistic drivel about 'western culture' like the CCP apparatchiks want them to. Apparently free speech is a vice peculiar to the 'west'.

this is completely wrong. You can discuss anything you want in China, just don't post about it on social media. Also, don't be a Tibetan or a Uyghur.

In the years I lived in China I realized there is much less police interference in your life there than there is in the states. However if you step out of line and critique the government on a public platform or in a big way, you'll be kicked out (if you're a foreigner) or "harmonized" if you're a native, particularly an ethnic minority.

posting that doesn’t do anything to my internet if in China and like >>11890926
said you are wrong anyway

also in the entirety of our conversation previous to the post where you accuse me of moving the goalposts we were talking about chinese reaction to western culture. Only AFTER that post did you switch to >whenever I champion human rights chinks just switch to muh western culture which we werent talking about, even though we were and Im arguing with an American

The police won't come to whisk you aeay to be reeducated unless you make a BIG stink. Rather, you'll just be dropped out of the system. No social media, no phone, no bank account, barred from any job, barred from the political process.

This is no different than what's done in the West (ask Nick Griffin or Weev about this).

not all political discussion takes place on the internet, anon. I lived in China for years and in your day to day life you can talk about whatever you want. They only start caring when you start making a ruckus. I'm not endorsing the system, I'm just saying it is the case.
