I read Sapiens and Deus. Sapiens is decent but if you look at some of the research about behavioral modernity / cognitive revolution etc, it turns out he's not all that accurate. I read it in the original Hebrew and thought Harari did a great job trying to tell a very long story. His chapter on the invention of modern sexuality was pretty provocative, explaining that single mothers create more aggressive males when society needs greater risks taken.
