“Few understand that procrastination is our natural defense, letting things take care of themselves and exercise their antifragility; it results from some ecological or naturalistic wisdom, and is not always bad -- at an existential level, it is my body rebelling against its entrapment. It is my soul fighting the Procrustean bed of modernity.”

Whoah.. time to become Antifragile

By wasting my self-development time through indulging in social media on my electronic device. I'm totally fighting modernity by being unable to let go of my smartphone. 40D chess.

Procrastination does not equal wasting time on your smartphone. You can procrastinate just as well by playing football or tennis with your friends, or by having a glass of wine on your porch.
I think the motivation behind Taleb’s statement is in part exactly this:
By not feeling so extremely guilty anymore for procrastinating, you can enable yourself to actually procrastinate in good/joyful ways, instead of having to resort to methods that are first and foremost very good at diverting from / numbing your feeling of guilt, while offering little good in the long run.

I'm already anti-fragile. Is Nassim telling me this is a good way to grieve? It's been years and I'm still wasting away.

I have only read a short taleb article on some systems theory. What is (or makes him) worthwhile to read if I have read a lot of ackoff

For example, jbp is just a boomer jung.

The only thing I enjoy is lying on my bed. I don't mean that in a depressive way, I genuinely enjoy it.

He is an economist, so a lot of insight comes from there. What he writes is non-fiction self-development. But he seems to be very well read and spent a lot of time on his theories.

Why should you read him? His ideas are unique. He doesn't just spout the same bullshit as everyone else (Which is 99% of the genre).
