I can't ever remember /lit/ being hostile towards this book, it used to be revered.
Is this a recent development? If it is, i'd blame the recent influx of redditors and /pol/shitters (which is the same).

I think it is a recent development. It consistently makes the top 100 chart. Though you never see threads about the book. The only reason it even gets posted lately is because of the recent third edition came out a few weeks ago. Most responses on the thread are hostile like this one >>11277302
