Does anyone remember the title of the short story that's basically about a wolf seeing a dog in the woods.

It's told from the perspective of the wolf, and he describes the dog as as skinny and sickly version of itself that can barely talk.

>> No.11249475

I vaguely remember an Aesop’s fable where the wolf observed how well fed the dog was and how groomed it’s coat. The wolf was envious until the dog’s master called and the dog went running and the wolf was like, ‘fuck that shit.’

There's something really horrifying about wolves
Like cats when you look at them can sometimes look malicious and evil
But wolves look like theyve seen some horrible, unearthly shit

>suffering
What the dog considers suffering the wolf considers normal.
Your entire perspective of trauma can be completely dismantled by simply realigning your expectations or value judgments. You will argue this is what a fool does, that the wolf is simply lying to itself.
"You aren't really having fun!" cries the demoralized man, "you're just being tricked into enjoying yourself!"
The world is devoid of meaning and purpose is an illusion. Surely you accept this. If you do, why do you consider to insist that you're life "ought" to be a way instead of accepting it as it is? Don't you realize you're literally making yourself unhappy?
Even if someone cuts off your hand, you have the option of adapting and moving past that trauma. There's no need to remain, for the rest of your life, trapped by the idea that someone had cut your hand off.
The worst part is that the worst you're likely to have experienced is someone being rude to you. You've never even had a hand cut off - you're simply aware it could happen, and are choosing to submit to despair. You are arguing that the world of man's expectations is the only world that should exist, as if the universe itself could care what man expected of it.

It is not a terrible thing to desire a world where a person can expect to not face hardship, or even to work to make such a world reality. It is a terrible thing, though, to realize that you do not live in such a world and to then simply despair and become demoralized.
