Hey /lit/ I just got a new job and I have a lot of free time on my hands. I figured I might as well read to pass the time. What is your favorite book? I'm open to all genres, but prefer adventure stuff as it keeps my attention.

What job is it that gives you a lot of free time? I recently read Death on Credit and loved it. Not adventure per se but it keeps the reader's attention, if you like black humor. Philip K Dick's mid-career novels (UBIK, Androids, Flow my Tears) if you like science fiction.

I started a job at a hospital, but it's a grave yard shift, so pretty much nothing happens. I have roughly 7-8 hours of free time out of a 10 hour shift. I was watching shows on netflix, but it's killing me. I decided reading would be more stimulating.

Perfect, and it's only $8 on amazon. Thanks for the rec. It was a bummer when I found out it was a sham. I first read it in junior high, and the thought of it being real made it so much more entertaining.

I should probably get around to reading that now. I have no excuse. It's been on my list for a while, but was never a priority.

Is interesting that you like a bok about breaking a prision while it seems you broke a prision by having a more flexible job.

In more ways than you know. This job allowed me to get out of a very toxic relationship. Hopefully it's the first step into getting my shit back together.
