I enjoyed it. All about those appendices. You want to ask Anon though as I'm not as entitled to speak for /lit/ as much as he.

you don't want to ask Anon's opinion, because Anon is only 19 years old and tends to shit on everything. it's safer than coming out and saying you like something.

OP: Dune is pretty good. you might want to check out pic related, too.

I definitely wouldn't call it heavy. Please report to your library for a card recertification.

yeah Dune was great. A little bit too much Islam in the Fremen culture but still.

I thought it was boring.

It was great, really the best fantasy books I've ever read but sometimes it does get a little boring and its not as easy to keep track of every character.
Dune is very different to pretty much all other fantasy books. People who are used to Harry Potter will have trouble reading it.

lol. the "islam in the fremen" thing is a meme.

If you want a good "space opera" style sci-fi story, but which takes things like cultural psychology and spirituality seriously, it's a pretty good read.
I read it when I was young. I really ought to read it again.

Got as far as Heretics. Really didn't like Heretics. Didn't even like Miles Teg despite how people say he's good.
