>man spends all life being a beta
>rips off better authors to make his story
>gains a modicum of power over other people
>years of pent up beta attitude leads to abuse of that power
it's a classic case

Can't take this fat fuck seriously. How can you read the words of anyone who can't even be bothered to take care of themselves?

The only good overweight artists were Orson Welles and Barry White.

This is beyond absurd. Before the last hundred years, virtually every fucking man got stout if he lived past 35 and wasn't poor.

His realism prose style is very intoxicating. The first 3/4 of A Game of Thrones has pretty shitty prose, being downrigjt cringy and edgy, even if not nearly as bad as other "canon" fantasy writers, but it picks up like crazy towards the end of it and sustains a greatness during the rest of the series. He's also great at creating personalities and telling it realistically from their perspective. He also writes some damn good lines here and there. None of his other works are as nicely written, though, probably because he wrote the first one off an on all throughoutbthe 70s and 80s and then he just got gud.

Like with Tolstoy (cept with him its a constant and much more astounding thing), sometimes its very impressive how realistic George RR Martin's prose is, especially in Clash of Kings and on from there. Like the world in the book is describing itself and its history from the point of view of a few human beings in it naturally.

Had i only seen the show, and maybe obly read a little over the half of the first ice and fire, i would have distain for the guy too, but as it is, he's a good example of a fine man who writes fine fantasy novels.
