What are /lit/'s favorite VNs? I have a hunch that Subahibi might be one of them.

Yeah, this is why i gave up on visual novels. Reading the blandest prose for 50+ hours is not fun.

I'm pretty sure the Phenomeno VN is based on the first book from a light novel series. Tried reading the VN, but I felt like the translation was kinda bad.

Grusaia is no better than other regular VNs with cool concepts like rewrite, sharin no kuni or G-senjou no Maou. OP’ s VN is legit good (except the porn)

Subahibi is a bit to deep for me. Whilst I understand the story the philosophical themes went right over my head.

It's my own invention was great.
Especially the part when The teacher fucked her dad then rode across town naked on a bike, then being used as a literally toilet.

I felt like the mystery was unresolved when I finished it and got the ending I got, it felt like the game was hiding something from me. I know there's like 7 endings and I'll probably replay it to try and get a new one, but I'm not sure if they'll tell me anything new or if the game just has a few plotholes

I read it recently and honestly didn't like it. All of the girls were uninteresting and I never felt particularly invested in anything. The MC was good of course, but the whole time I kept comparing it in my head to Subahibi, which was much better. You can clearly see Cross Channel's influence there, but it felt like some kind of bland prototype.

>> No.11077331

>>11077319
The brokenness of each of the characters and how it relates to modern society was interesting to me. The girl who loves Taichi constantly seeking redemption after psychologically destroying him and ultimately failing paralleled his self redemption in a very moving way. It is in the end all about him and the characters are subversive takes on established archetypes so they lose familiarity like in evangelion but I still sympathized with them

>It is in the end all about him and the characters are subversive takes on established archetypes so they lose familiarity like in evangelion
That's a bad example as the characters in Evangelion are still widely loved and discussed 20 years later. Because they're actually good characters.

>To sum it up: I thoroughly enjoyed Sakura no Uta, and it’s definitely the best game of the year, maybe a few years even. It didn’t give me anywhere as strong an impression as Subarashiki Hibi — Scaji’s masterpiece — but it’s a good, profound story penned by a master’s hand, and should be read by anyone with even a passing interest in the medium. Seriously, if Scaji wasn’t writing visual novels, I’d expect his name to come up among Nobel Prize laureates in a year or two — I definitely read less profound books of the guys that actually won the prize.

For starters, throw all of those away and go get uncensored versions online. Never, ever buy VNs from western platforms.
