Still going back to the discussion that started at the top of the thread, the insistence of promoting stratification of society is probably something with more ulterior and worldly motives than about truly enlightening society. And the fact that stratified societies like the traditional monarchies have ended up being surpassed by purposedly egalitarian societies is possible proof of modern societies' superiority to older forms of government.

Modern societies may be better because they achieved greater societal and scientific advancement. Also has a precedent in the societies of the medieval period when compared to the classical world and how humanity has sought to restore classical values and has held them in high esteem. It's more complex than something simply coming afterwards.
