I am reading through this right now, and quite honestly if you do not have a decently high IQ going into this book you are going to misinterpret the data at every turn not to mention conflate ideas, misread the text, and put into practice many easily avoidable biases that the general populace seem to harbor.

Now wonder it is so contentious though, as much as it is written for consumption by a more general audience of people it even states in the earlier chapters that statistically speaking if you are reading this book right now and have not given up yet and are are not offended, that out of your 12 closest friends and colleagues chances are nearly all of them have college degrees, and that the friends/colleagues that you find exceptionally bright are likely in the 98th percentile, or higher, of the IQ distribution while those who you find not as quick on the uptake are still in the higher end of the average range for IQ. Essentially saying on average the person's IQ who reads this book is close to 125.

It's an incredibly fascinating read but the data here is dangerous as can be seen by the effects that the publication of this book has caused.
