Has anyone ever written that all ideologies ultimately boil down to hedonism?

Plato thinks the highest good is contemplation of the forms, Nietzsche thinks it's tragedy/conflict/aesthetics, the religious person thinks it's some blissful state outside the world entirely. In all of theses cases they're chasing after some state in which everything will be okay, like the junkie chasing his next high

What you described isn't hedonism.

You don't mean hedonism, you mean fixed ideas. Addiction is an ideology, but not all ideologies are addictions.

In any event it sounds like you're ready for the Milk Man

What ideologies base morality on something that isn't pleasure/happiness? Because I'm reading Aristotle and he sure is, and so far I'm inclined to agree.
