A quell'ora, prima dell'imbrunire, stava sempre fuori a godersi gli ultimi sprazzi del sole freddo che bagnava quelle terre, stancamente seduto su una vecchia seggiola in vimini e legno scheggiato, proprio in mezzo al marciapiede, col suo yorkshire ingrigito che sonnecchiava sull'uscio poco dietro di lui, cosicché chiunque volesse superarlo doveva passargli innanzi e lui stava come una sfinge e scrutava tutti, uno ad uno, e li giudicava secondo chissà quali leggi arcaiche e misteriose attraverso il nero profondo dei suoi occhi infossati e con quelli pareva condannarli e fustigarli, finché poteva, e se mai qualcuno gli rivolgesse la parola o gli facesse un cenno col capo, non rispondeva, ma deglutiva e s'accigliava. La mia esperienza è stata metà positiva e metà negativa. Il primo anno è stato il migliore, tra l'altro anche grazie a un corso di Di Martino (con cui mi laureo). La seconda parla di un vecchio, vecchio, vecchio (quante volte dici 'vecchio' o sinonimi di 'vecchio'?): nooiaaaa. È davvero difficile visualizzare quello che vedi, ti perdi in talmente tanti particolari ridicoli che rendono la lettura uno strazio.
