>Literally the first lecture is on DFW
>The lecturer goes on about how critical theory will blow our minds and make us question everything before sperging out about how DFW is writing about Late Stage Capitalism and how marxism is the answer
>tfw you fell for the pseud-iversity meme

I'm honestly not making any of this up. My university lecturer spent 1 hour of my compulsory critical theory course talking about David Foster Wallace in the context of late stage capitalism. The reason I posted it on /lit/ was precisely because of the absurdity.

I had a critical theory class taught by an oldschool Russian woman. Talked about Walter Benjamin, Bakhtin, Althusser etc
I didn't get fuckin any of it so I dropped.

Rhetorical theory isn't much better. English is a dead field

>doesn't read DFW as an author of Late Stage Capitalism

So what, you pretend he's from the 1800's or something? Every author currently writing comments on their fucking society

I'm redpilled I believe capitalism is good, and DFW knew this. His criticism in his books instead are against communism and leftism, NOT capitalism or traditionalism, which belong together

Capitalism is pretty good, but it's not perfect or anything. And late-stage capitalism is the expression of all of its flaws.
