I masturbated to a video of a woman whos name was Aurora Malak. Doubtful that its her real name. She had large, great looking natural breasts, a rough cut short haircut that looked to be a wig or a rushed haircut, bright red lipstick, and an average body. I landed on the video after searching through loads of rather dubious porn forums, seeing it as a way to escape yet another night of deplorable exploration. Right as I opened the video I read a comment bemoaning that she had stopped doing porn because of a botched breast reduction. In addition to explaining why I hadn't seen her content for 2 years, it also put in my mind a feeling of sadness and empathy for what must have been a severe injury to her appearance, doubtless causing much insecurity in relationships and whatever else. But of course, I don't know any of this. I hadn't seen the reduction, it might've looked fine, just unacceptable to those who value large breasts. The idea was still in my mind, and as I masturbated, aside from imagining that the woman was currently going through sadness (a given for porn artists and human beings) I also began feeling other ideas flow in, ideas such as what it'd be like to masturbate to a dead woman, then the idea of how this must be a reality for those who have lost a partner due to tragic accident. What that might be. The thought of how I gain so much pleasure from flesh which this woman had had to surgically removed, like with a scalpel and rubber gloves, by men who have trained for years in the discipline and surely must feel this current feeling a magnitude greater than myself.

But before all this was the internal decision whether or not to allow the thoughts to flow, or stifle them in an attempt to prevent them from preventing my orgasm. Though it was definitely causing a great deal of lost excitement because of the distraction, I allowed the feelings to flow uninhibited on purpose, because of my personal goals for learning as much as possible about true reality. I wanted these strange new emotions. I wanted as much as I could get, and quickly the experience of laying in the bathtub masturbating to a woman on my phone whose breasts were surgically reduced after that video had been recorded became mind altering.

English is such a clumsy, slow and awkward way to convey ideas and experiences. In the middle of struggling to jam these damn words together in order to write one good sentence, the thoughts and emotions for several more flow through me, and I am forced to set them aside to finish my first sentence's flailing about. Its a ton of fluff and styrofoam only to end up saying very little. Why the value of good writing. Like all art it takes so much energy. A painting or animation may better express the above experience, and that would take even more time and effort. Why the value of art. Clumsy, slow, and awkward, we are forced to rely on it to share our lives with one another.

>was "just bee urself" all along? What does that even mean and how do we achieve that?

Enter Jung's entire work on individuation and its process. There are many ways to go about it. Analysing your dreams and active imagination then following their wisdom (interpreted appropriately), enquiry addressed to the subconscious entities that dwell within in you and persuing self mastery and understanding are some of the general approaches to this process Jung alludes to, that I can remember in the moment.

>What does it even mean

It means to unvcover who you are at your very center, and integrate that center in such a manner that it finds ample expression and being in daily life.

>doesn't this sound like unintelligible babble or I'm missing something

"Self depreciation" differs to "undervaluation of his own principle". The first refers to a generally depressed self image, whereas the second refers specifically to the context of "his own principle". It's roughly the same kind of nuance for most of the other things he says.

Autistic, yes, but detailed. Jung kind of has his own sort of language that he has developed through excessive wizard tier ruminations and writings on the depths of the psyche. But it makes a bit more sense after you read a chapter or two.

I used to make a joke about continental philosophy that went "I don't if it's obfuscated and meaningless or I'm just too stupid to understand it."

Dressing things up with ten-cent words to make simple observations seem thoughtful and abusing complexity for the sake of making criticisms toward one's ideas more difficult are very prevalent. However, there's also the fact that a writing style itself can aid a reader toward an idea of a given concept when such isn't tangible using ordinary straightforward language (e.g. "spirit" or "sublime"). Given that a lot of continental thinkers are dealing with these types of concepts, a certain degree of obfuscation in their writing style can be forgiven. There's technical writing but there's also technique in writing; which do you figure would factor more into the work of a continental?

Are there perhaps any non-fiction regarding this subject? I have done acts of "evil"—according to my family—throughout this year and my father had made a decision to call a priest and an exorcist priest once the lockdown is over. The former to conduct a prayer for the sake of my soul, the latter not just to check me if I am possessed by a spirit but to also exorcise our land of any evil spirit.
My father had already called the local witch doctor today for some "spiritual healing", but since I have refused to come down today it is no doubt that she will come visit us until she had done what my father has sought her for

I must admit my own lack of scientific rigor, I'm biased in accusing Object-oriented Ontology as a misinterpretation of Heidegger, I could however be correct, or perhaps wrong. I must unveil my true motivations to you, I don't want to expend my life reading philosophy just to get nearer to the truth, every year a new book is published which could potentially unveil the truth of being, must I read each one of them to attain such goal? Isn't this ridiculous? There are too many authors, I said to myself I would finish Heidegger and maybe Derrida, and retire myself from reading philosophy (but not from thinking), memorize a translation of an epic Greek tragedy and go live a life of action. Any other authors are absolutely required to know apart from Heidegger and Wittgenstein?

I am about to order a bunch of English poetry online. I feel like I am finally ready to read poetry (I've struggled for years trying to read poetry) from introductions I have read and classes I have taken. So far in my cart I have Donne, Milton, Ted Hughes, Dickinson, Frost, Crane, Stevens, Shelley, Wordsworth, Keats, Blake, Tennyson, and Whitman, and Herbert. I've read some stuff from them in classes before now I am going to read all their stuff. Who else is super duper priority must read in English poetry?

Hey /lit/ how do I improve my writing? I write essays to know how much I understood the books I had read but everytime I read them it looks like as if it were written by a 10th grader. Is it a matter of practice? a matter of expanding my vocabulary? or should I learn more about grammar structures or whatever it is called? I'm also an esl which probably matters :^l
