Irrelevant. Barth at worst is a step below Thomas Pynchon in terms of fame. He is on every "postmod" or "big book" list there is. He's more famous then William H Gass, is Gass obscure too? He's arguably more famous than half of the authors on the top 100 /lit/ every year, straight up. Of course if your standard for fame is determined by people who have only read "The Secret" or "The 48 Laws of Power" or "The Alchemist" and nothing else, then of course Barth is obscure, these people don't even know who William Faulkner is. The average person does not know who Barth is, I grant you that, but the average person is the above mentioned. People who are even slightly into literature that goes beyond Paulo Coelho have at least heard of Barth.

Everytime I have a dream where I'm in the metro or subway station I always get lost. Its so weird because I'm pretty well used to navigating metro stations. I find myself in a completely different destination I'm supposed to go.
However, I only dream of Japanese and French metro subway networks. Which is a little oddly specific.
