a novel, short story, play or anything else where the plot is similar to Focault's Pendulum or Crying of the Lot 49. The protagonist should get involved into some kind of conspiracy, that he or she couldn't handle and loses his/her mind.

It would be nice if the book was written in the 21st century.

I'm about a third way through this book (I began reading about three days ago). It's really good and I'm enjoying it a ton. Also reading Trilce by Cesar Vallejo, and Borges' Collected Fictions. Recently finished (in this past week): Baudrillard's Simulacra and Simulation, Schelling's System of Transcendental Idealism. I'm having the best time right now.
