Are there books that talk about the ongoing cultural phenomenon that involves the former religious status quo of the early 20th century and earlier (abrahamism in the west) becoming the new transgressive ideology as a response to postmodernism and atheism becoming more dominant?
Are people like Hitchens worth reading or do they have nothing of value to say on this subject? I'm looking for impartial sources.

it is a spectacle, you don't see congress or the senate weighing in on much bigger decisions than the shit they shut down and make a huff about, it is all to give the illusion that your representative government represents you, that there is a choice of left or right in itself is but a spectacle
