Hello, /sffg/, I'm new to your generals but I was wondering if anyone knew some good recommendations for fantasy novels that have unicorns in them?
Peter S Beagle's The Last Unicorn I've already read and I didn't realise I wanted more adventures and frolicking and songs with magic horses.

I mean, I'm a-asking for a friend...

Not /lit/, I know, but does /lit/ anon who love weird/cosmic fiction have any good film reccs for that oldschool gothic horror craving I have?

I've already watched Dead of Night, Cat People, Carnival of Souls, Suspiria, Black Sunday, Séance on a Wet Afternoon, The Haunting, Nosferatu, Night of the Demon, etc. Old gothic films, no William Castle please, thank you.

> I just skipped over the parts that were predominantly about non male characters

I'm sure I've seen this bait before but it still gets my goat.

writer
no coffees yet but I've had a milk and a water
trying to manage various genres but right now i'm focusing on thriller
lol don't remind me of imposter syndrome please
my routine is i'll read for an hour in the morning and i'll write for two hours, but i'm also balancing it with writing essays on film (a hobby I've taken up recently)
I don't think I've done anything weird for my writing, the closest is probably just some of the stuff you do when finding research. I tried to interview and police officer but I was redirected to a media department for the local police and they told me they weren't authorised to talk to me, so that sucked. You would think it wouldn't be so hard to just ask an officer some questions but hey ho.
Some of my ideas honestly just come about while I'm reading or writing, but some of it is definitely based on personal experience or maybe something I've read in the news.
When I'm ready to edit, I proof read and check for errors and typos, but then after proof reading I write a list of the things that just don't work for me at all and plan to change them or cut them completely. I do that a few times and then my plan is to get a second opinion.

Best way I stop myself procrastinating is putting on some hyper ignorant trap rap on and that really helps me blast through my work. Maybe its the tempo or the constant rapping about money but something just spurs me on to get a lot of work done about it.

I've applied for a job at the BBC, shouldn't say what really, please wish me luck

I'm a bit upset because I made a nice thread asking people what they were reading, what they last read and what their favourite book of the year was (while asking what their favourite animal was) and it got deleted after like five posts ;_;

it wouldn't hurt too much, I guess the animal thing was irrelevant to /lit/-related things (just a nice light hearted ice-breaker) but then you see constant shitposting that never gets deleted and you can't help but feel a little low about it all

>straight white male protagonist
>satirical and relentlessly mocks political correctness
>supposed to be cynical and slightly disturbing
I have no hope of getting published, do I?
