As a 16 year old male I couldn't ever imagine reading this, but if you're female and this book could have a positive impact then read it.

I'm sexist, but certainly not misogynistic- it's clear a lot of people on this board have gleaned something of worth from Peterson's pop self-help book, there isn't anything shameful in that. Nobody who has read 12 Rules and benefited from it should have any reason to put down a book like this, unless they themselves are misogynistic.

All this being said, I'm not sure that such pop self-help books will make as much of a positive impact as some higher quality literature. Meditations and some stoic philosophy like Epictetus is would imo be far more beneficial in bolstering your self-confidence. Paired with Carnegie's WF&IF and perhaps some books on behavior (there are a lot of good ones written by ex-fbi agents) and you should have more solid platform from which to promote yourself.

why does lit not recognize the U.S.'s place as the current torchbearer of patrician civilization? what is more based than educating and protecting the entire world for free? unironically the successors to greek and roman civs t. indonesian shitholer who got through school on free american education, hoping to one day make him and his family honorary amerifats

Is literary theory a bunch of bullshit? Seems like it's literally just grasping at straws and making up something that isn't there.

>Students are in their seats, Plato begins his lecture
>Suddenly, the door swings open
>it's Diogenes
>25 minutes late to class
>"Oh my God Becky, is he holding a dead chicken?"
>"Like, is that his lunch or something?"
>"He's so weird"
>Diogenes sits at a desk in the back, leaning awkwardly backwards and bouncing his knee up and down
>He gets up quickly, knocking his thigh on the desk with a clunk
>Everybody turns around and looks
>Plato stops talking
>Diogenes walks to the front of the class, stumbling part way through
>"Oh God, not again"
>Diogenes holds up his plucked chicken
>"B-behold, a m-m-man!" His voice breaking
>Eyes roll and audible groans are heard throughout the class
>Diogenes slams the chicken on the table, it slips off, so he bends down, picks it up, and puts it back on the table
>He walks out, masturbating
