Picrel is kinda great. Weird style wise and abuses alliteration but I wish I could set scene and character so efficiently. It was a solid first novel but I assume he has not grown since his only other novel is a sequel and the issues I have with his writing I can't see being addressed in a sequel. I think this is the only things I have read which could be said to have been written by a celebrity.

Most people get filtered by his style and he does lean a little to heavily on alliteration but it works well within context of the novel. His ability to set scenes and characters is insanely impressive. I hope he keeps writing and developing his skill but I think he has only written a sequel so far and I assume it will have much the same style and show little growth.

Lately I have been reading The Knot by Michael Gira, pretty good so far.

Alright /lit/. You like reading? You like writing?
You have 1 minute to write an interesting and compelling intro to a story.
If you think you are shit at writing then just pitch me a plot.

I find picrel unironically great. It is weird stylistically with it's reliance on alliteration but he develops fantastic rhythms and his ability to efficiently set scene and character is impressive. I hope he works on developing his writing, he shows great promise but his reliance on alliteration for rhythm and flow becomes gimmicky by the end but it is a quick and easy read that is strong on theme and manages it without a reliance on exposition. So far he has only written a sequel to it which I assume sticks to the same style with all it's issues.

Alliteration is top tier. Just don't write like this retard:
>“Bob’s boyhood essence set him up for a separation from time, synergy, and social mores, leading him to acts of indelicacy, wounding words, and woeful whimsy that he himself would come to dread.” ― page 12

>“Silly questions of cherries saved served to sever any last impression Bob might have had of Spurley as a serious citizen.” ― page 94

>“There is pride to be had where the prejudicial is practiced with precision in the trenchant triage of tactile terminations.” ― page 125

>“His dream’s desert daylight diffusion dictated disturbances in the void of visual detail.” ― page 142
