The thing with Hegel being the final freaking boss and inescapable and blah-blah is essentially this. The man who says everything, says nothing. If you can have a philosophy against everything Hegel said, against the labour of the negative, against the slow evolution of history, against the idea of history ending, against absolute spirit and truth, against all of that shit (ie Nietzsche's entire body of thought), and STILL end up back at Hegel, then he has said nothing. If his philosophy of history can simply take any form, can claim to describe anything, after the fact, then it says nothing.
