Nietzsche assails the only Christianity he knows, Protestantism, and you may find it strange, but as a Catholic I am in agreement with his attack to a degree. Nietzsche is concerned with the aristocratic values, and in particular, as these relate to the man of genius. Say what you want, but the historical record of Protestantism does not leave one with a strong feeling that excellence is of any human importance to such a mode of religion. In fact, here in America, the Puritans have left us with a nothing less than a wasteland.

Christianity is for natural hierarchies because inequality is a good thing and a manifestation of our different talents and gifts. It is also explicitly against the sin of envy, which certainly animates the entire doctrine of socialism. It rejects the idea of class conflict, in favor of the idea of social solidarity. It also upholds the principle of subsidiarity, and abhors unnecessary bureaucracy on principle. And if that weren't enough, communists of all colors are explicitly anathematized.
