If you think reading Infinite Jest is some intellectual slog you're a brainlet. It is top banter that could have been shared between two old mates at a funeral bar. The incoherent junkie chapters are your friends imitating the street whore that just chased you around with a knife just outside the pub.

Good luck guys, don't let this die like every other reading group. I read IJ 6 months ago in the (Australian) summer and it is very enjoyable.
If anyone is struggling I recommend 'Elegant Complexity' it's a chapter by chapter guide that helped with my reading.

Tips for maintaining/improving health while in a sort of /lit/ cocoon mode? Just graduated college and looking at a couple months of freedom, wherein I'd like to fill-in some of my glaring educational deficiencies and continue my study of the Russian language.

The problem is that I am already an Amerifat, and ideally I would lose a few pounds of fat while gaining a couple of brain. Ideas I'm considering: standing while reading (I imagine 8-10 hours standing a day would burn some calories), hitting vocabulary flashcards while on a stationary bike. Don't know that audio books are useful for anything.


Anyone have some input?

Can anyone link me to some accelerationist writing/ideology that doesn’t read like it’s written by a sci-fi dork on LSD in between lines of coke?

Or is that the appeal, being so cryptic and loaded with quasi religious sci-fi jargon that it hides it’s lack of actual substance? Because if that’s the case I can just write it off before I waste my time.
