Did Lovecraft "predict" minecraft by casting his mind into the future in his dreams, like he talks about in "The Shadow Out of Time"? Did he contact Notch and did Notch name it "minecraft" as a reference to "Lovecraft"? Stone slabs and cobblestone are both common road building materials in minecraft, used in conjunction with each other in advanced, textural road building projects. Notch could have fallen into depression and infamy due to angering some cosmic entities through unskillful forays into the past or whatever. Notch and Lovecraft are also both somewhat right wing on issues of race, so this is another link. Is Notch perhaps the reincarnation of Lovecraft, trying to show the world how to dream? Does Lovecraft want us to build the worlds he described... in minecraft?
