How to read contemporary lit? I'm sick of reading old shit, I've drenched myself in the canon and dipped in my region's different national traditions (Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Colombia and Argentina, mostly). But now I feel like I need to read new stuff, but all I seem to find is airport crime or genre shit. Give me some good recs written in the last 15 years or so.

Right wingers are so stupid that they blame "leftists" for everything, but when they actually sit and read hardcore leftists, they love the stuff and claim the author to be right wing.

Then you're not paying attention or you're so far removed from developed urban life that these developments are not entirely relevant to you. Yet again you're in a Mongolian basket weaving missive site, so it's very likely that you're just a pleb.

How does one start a situation? I've been reading a lot of stuff by situationists, the notions of spectacle, psychogeography, whatever. But how can one start a situation in the middle of fucking suburbia? Even in the city this shit makes no sense. Were the Situationists, dare I say it, dense and cringepilled?

Why is Borges so well liked on /lit/? I've read The Aleph and Ficciones, but all I got was an old man writing philosophy in fiction format. All of his tales could be totally written in a scientific/philosophical style and still work. His prose has nothing going for it, all that matters are the concepts. Is his poetry any better? (I can read it in Spanish, just so you know) If so, where to start?
