The bizarre episode that is Tom Bombadil's forest, followed by the spookiest part of the whole trilogy in the Barrow Downs; a horror that is then dispelled all heroic-like by Tom himself. Definitely one of my favourite bits.

Hey dol! merry dol! ring a dong dillo!
>the redditor begins to chuckle
Ring a dong! hop along! Fal lal the willow!
>the redditor laughs out loud, spewing Cheetoh crumbs all over his book
Tom Bom, jolly Tom, Tom Bombadillo!
>the redditor can hardly contain his full bellied laughter
Old Tom Bombadil is a merry fellow;
>the redditor starts convulsing on the floor, gasping for air between spasms of laughter
Bright blue his jacket is, and his boots are yellow.
>the redditor's heart explodes and he dies

You can tell brainlets from decent people by their dislike for Tom Bom Jolly Tom Tom Bombadillo. He is simply fantastic; I adore the chapters between the Hobbits leaving the Shire and arriving at Bree.
