Anyone read this? I just finished it and am confused on one point, bateman towards the end professes how he sees the world basically as a meaningless jagged crater.
He only wants to make others feel his pain.
So why is he so obsessed with being bested by others materials like business or credit cards etc. if the world is meaningless to him?
