I don't get it. Was my copy broken? People seem to find a great optimism in reading this tome. My copy had a perpetual cycle of bloodshed and chastisements of the most extreme kind and finally ended with countless 100's of billions of people suffering eternal torment. In fact there was great attention given to how few would actually receive salvation and how they would be greatly afflicted and need strength of attributes as discernment and humility to bear the affliction. The way to salvation was spoken of as exceedingly narrow and beset on all sides be fires of hell. So billions of people actually read this and find comfort in it and want it to be true even in the absence of compelling evidence? How and why?
