If reading is not something that you enjoy then don't force yourself. You're not meant to toil and struggle to finish every page. Locked in a constant clash with boredom. If this isn't stemming from a love for literature then why even bother.

I feel like you're just trying this in some vain attempt to appear more cultured. Well I've got news for you. Nobody who actually enjoys literature is going to be fooled. If the love isn't there the best you can hope for is to become some pseudo-intellectual who's trying to hard to be something he's not.

Go back to the video games and Chinese cartoons that you love. Life is to short to be a phoney.
